After being in Berlin earlier this week for Blockshow Europe with Alex and a few other members of our team, I traveled back to Belgrade to work with our R&D team and check up on our progress as we move closer to the first version of the app to include a functioning wallet.
I got the chance to speak at the CryptoKonf 2018 in Belgrade to share my experience with marketing our ICO and explain what we did right (and what we did wrong) to be one of the top 10 ICOs for Q1 of 2018. (Click the picture below and find us on ICO Rating p.28)
App Version 0.2
I’m happy to report that we stuck to our deadlines and submitted this version of the app to Apple last week as we intended. We’re still “In Review” and waiting for approval. We also managed to get things sorted out with Google and we’re just waiting for the Apple version to be approved so we can release both the iOS version and Android version at the same time.
App Version 1.0
We have finalized all of the screens for version 1.0 and created all of the stories in Jira. As you can see, we’ve made a lot of changes to the look and feel of the app so that it’s tightly aligned with our branding.
The team has now scheduled all of the required stories into a few sprints over June so that we can start the QA process later in the month. We also brought a few more developers on board which you can see in the picture below.
While we ran into a few delays over the last few weeks trying to find the right partner to handle custodianship of the funds users will be depositing into our wallet, it looks like we now have a viable solution.
We have decided to use BitGo as our trusted custodian – they have a good track record working with some of the biggest exchanges in the crypto space.
Despite the delays caused by finding the right custodian, as of now, we are still on target to submit the app to Apple at the end of the month (we will probably go ahead and release the Android version first as we don’t know how long the Apple approval process will take).
Timelines are still very, very tight but we are confident at the moment we’ll stay on track (depending on how Serbia does in the World Cup).
Sprints used to be Friday to Friday but we decided to change this to Wednesday to Wednesday as part of some organizational changes we made in conjunction with expanding the team. Our current sprint schedule looks like this:
- Sprint 11 – ends June 6th
- Sprint 12 – ends June 13th
- Serbia vs. Costa Rica on June 17th
- QA week – ends June 20th (Keith/Nuke in Belgrade)
- Serbia vs. Switzerland on June 22nd
- Release date – June 27th
- Serbia vs. Brazil on June 27th (will there be an upset?)
Website Version 2.0
We’ve completed the wireframes for the new version of the homepage and now we’re working on tweaking the UI and messaging. I’ll share some sneak peaks when we’re ready.
The marketing team and I have been working hard to put together a marketing strategy so that we can build awareness and buzz around the launch of the app when it’s ready. We’ll be trying to get as much PR as possible and we’ll also hit up some of our YouTube influencers from the crowdsale to help us get the word out about the release of the app.
Tell Us What You Want
We’re trying to get some more data from our community about which of our future products they’re most interested in and how much crypto they want to deposit. If you have a few minutes, we’d love to know if you plan to borrow fiat, lend crypto and earn interest or short the market.
Once Again, Thank You!
I’m very happy to see that our official (and unofficial) Telegram channels are still very active. It’s great to see all of the conversation and enthusiasm about what we’re building. We read every message you send us, and hearing from our community all day, every day motivates all of us to bring Celsius to the masses.
I also want to give a special shout out to Diego and Zjelco who came to hang out with us and tell everyone about Celsius at TNW. We love meeting the Celsius community and hope to meet more of you in the near future.
Alex and I are now on a regular schedule of sending out updates every other week. As always, if you have any questions or comments please PM me on Telegram (@keithbaumwald) or shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Have a great weekend CELmates!
